We are a local organization in Georgetown, Maine. If live in Georgetown or nearby, we would love to have you join us! So what do we do?
The Georgetown Working League has a long history going back more than 100 years . . . no, that is not a misprint! 107 years, going on 108 to be exact. The League has always been a charitable organization.
How do we raise money? Our main source of revenue is the profit from our Annual Fair and Quilt Raffle. Those funds are distributed back into our island community to support the Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Department, The Georgetown Community Center, and the Laura E. Richards Library, Most years we have enough to make donations to the Central School and the Historical Society as well as fulfilling smaller dollar requests as the need arises. Our endowment generates monies each year to give scholarships to Georgetown students.
