"Sea and Sky"
Our Quilt for 2008 has been a "learning quilt" for our members . . .
As
in life, our talent and membership is going through a shift.
With the mentorship of our more seasoned quilters, a new group of
women is coming forward to carry on the tradition of quiltmaking here
in Georgetown.
Our quilt this year is called "Sea and Sky."
The group chose an all pieced quilt, and as the theme suggests,
it features ships and stars. The process of creating templates
and cutting pieces gave newer members a chance to be involved in the
labor intensive process of preparing pieces for hand sewing.
